Sunscreen in a Brush

Acho que todos sabemos que o protetor para de fazer efeito mais ou menos 90 minutos depois que a gente aplica, mas a maior parte (inclusive eu) finge que o protetor solar dura o dia todo porque ta com preguiça ou nao quer borrar a maquiagem.

A verdade é que aplicamos o protetor as 7 da manha, quando levantamos e ficamos torrando no sol.

Nessa ultima temporada chegou um produto inovador que promete acabar com a preguiça das mais preguiçosa (eu), o protetor em pó é leve, não entope poros, promete ser ideal para peles sensíveis (diz ser chemical-free-broad-spectrum-protection), hipolargenico,e pode ser aplicado por cima da maquiagem quantas vezes quiser e alguns vem com um pouco de pó bronzeador (para aquelas que gostam de ficar da cor do pecado).

Vários deles tem produtos que prometem também absorver o óleo do rosto, acabando com aquele brilho e dando uma finalização matte

É ótimo para você levar na bolsa e reaplicar rapidinho e sem ficar com aquela sensação de melada.

I think we all know that the sunscreen we put on is only effective for about 90 minutes.  Most people (like myself) put it on and just pretend it last all day because we are far to lazy to re apply or we just don’t want to mess up our make up.

The truth is we apply out make up at 7 in the morning when we get up and just go on with our business like we aren’t damaging our skin.

This summer a new product came out and it promises to put and end to the laziness of the laziest person (me!), the new powder sunscreens promise to be light weight, not clog pores, hypoallergenic, ideal for sensitive skin (they say they are chemical-free-broad-spectrum-protection) and can be applied over out make up as many times and we see fit and some of them even come with a little bronzer (for those who love the sun kissed look).

Many of them also have products that absorb oil from the skin so that you don’t look shiny and always have that matte finish.

It’s great to put in your purse and apply really fast and efficiently whenever you want without getting that uncomfortable sticky feeling.

Drugstore Shopping NY

Quando eu vou para os EUA eu não deixo de passar em alguma farmácia, seja CVS, Duane Reade, o que for.  As farmácias lá são GIGANTES, são pequenos shoppings com tudo que você pode imaginar e mais.

Algumas coisinhas que eu comprei (da esquerda para a direita): Esmaltes Essie, Effaclar removedor de maquiagem com água termal, Base da Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam, Sally Hansen Nail Shield (esmalte em forma de adesivo nude), Falsies Volume Express da Maybelline, Sally Hansen Color Quick – esmalte na forma de caneta, Eos Lip Balm

When I go to the States I always stop by a Drugstore, in NY I go to Duane Reade in Miami it’s CVS, but wherever I go a drugstore is a must.  Unlike Brazil, the drugstores there are HUGE and they sell everything you may want and more.

Some of the things I bought there (from left to right): Essie Nail Polish, Effaclar (make-up removal with thermal water, Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation, Sally Hansen Nail Shield, Falsies Volume Express by Maybelline, Color Quick by Sally Hansen (nail polish in pen shape), Eos lip balm.

Baked By Melissa

O Baked by Melissa é uma rede de lojinhas de cupcakes.  Aqui em NY eu já experimentei diversos cupcakes, lojas e posso dizer que esse é um dos melhores que já comi.

Os cupcakes são mini ou como chamam aqui “bite size” então não é enjoativo, você nao se lambuza toda comendo e eles sao simplesmente deliciosos.

Eu, como uma boa gordinha, comprei dois de cada sabor, mas os que eu mais gostei (e SUPER recomendo) são: smores, cookie dough, red velvet (AMO) e peanut butter cup (esses só pros amantes de pasta de amendoim).

Bakes By Melissa is a chain of little cupcake stores.  I have tried so many cupcakes here in NY and this is one of the best I’ve had.

The cupcakes are bite size and they are not ridiculously sweet and also because they are small you won’t have crumbs and frosting falling all over you.  These cupcakes are amazingly good, I was really surprised.

I ordered two of each flavor and the ones I really enjoyed and recommend are: smores, cookie dough, red velvet (love cream cheese frosting) and the peanut butter cup for the ones who love peanut butter and aren’t allergic to it!

Gente, eu to em Nova Iorque e a internet ta meio ruim então vou fazer um post rapidinho e depois vem um post de um lugar super gostoso que almocei hoje!

I just arrived in New York, but my internet is not very good so I’m going to post something really fast and later on I will write a post on a restaurant I had lunch today that is really good.

Blush cremoso (amo!) com textura leve.  Pode aplicar diretamente nas bochechas, é bem pratico!

Creamy blush (love) with a very light texture.  You can apply directly to cheeks, which makes it extremely practical.

Os produtos da marca vieram de um livro de receitas e rituais de gueixas.  Os produtos contem chá verde, algas vermelhas e farelo de arroz.

Tem cleansing oil, esfoliante, sérum, hidratante e papel que absorve óleo.

The products by Tatcha came from a book of geishas with recipes and rituals.

The products are made from green tea, red algae and rice.  There is a cleansing oil, exfoliating cream, serum, hydrating cream and paper that absorbs skin oiliness.

Skin Illuminator – St. Tropez

Esse produto foi muito usado no Oscar e eu to louca pra testar, dizem que realmente da um up na maquiagem.

This product was used a lot during the Oscars; I’m dying to test it.

Dior One Essential Ultra – Détox

Eu tenho o creme da mesma linha e acho maravilhoso, essa mascara é desejo de consumo porque você usa uma vez na semana durante 5-10 minutos e a pele fica totalmente nova e limpa.

I have the cream from this line of products and it works wonders on my skin.  This mask is on my wish list because you only have to use it once a week for 5-10 minutes and get totally new, fresh looking skin.

Paris Tips

Quem tem viagem marcada para Paris? Bem, vou deixar aqui alguns lugares bem bacanas que vi no Radar Vogue (Brasil) mês passado.  E to louca pra conhecer.

Pra quem não gosta muito de lugares muito turistas, mas ama moda uma dica é a Emporium Armani Caffé em Saint-Germain.

Pra quem gosta muito de comer bem e de toda arte envolvida na gastronomia, o restaurante Sur Mesure no Hotel Mandarin acaba de ganhar outra estrela Michelin.  São pratos fusion de francês com toque oriental.

Here are some cool tips I saw on Radar Paris Vogue (Brazil) last month and I’m dying to try.

For those who don’t like very touristy places but love fashion a good place to go grab a bite is Emporrium Armani Caffé in Saint-Germain.

For those who love exquisite cuisine and love the art invested in making wonderful food, the restaurant Sur Mesure at the Mandarin Hotel just received another Michelin star, it’s fusion food, French with a touch of Oriental.

Travelling Wish List

Gente desde que vi a foto do Dinarobin Hotel Golf and Spa na GQ de janeiro ando sonhando em ir pra lá!  As ilhas Mauricio já estão no meu wish list tem um tempo, mas eu acredito em ir no estilo!!! E não tem como ir com mais estilo do que nesse resort 5 estrelas.  São 172 quartos super exclusivos com as vistas mais exclusivas e privativas por ser numa ponta da península.

Since I saw the photo of the Dinarobin Hotel Golf and Spa picture in January’s GQ I’ve been dreaming of going.  The Mauritius islands have been on my wish list for a while now but I believe in doing things in style, and going to this 5 star resort could not be more amazing,.  There are 172 exclusive rooms with exquisite views and all very private because its right at the edge of the peninsula.

Martha Medeiros @ Bergdorf

É galera até os gringos se renderam a nossa fabulosa estilista alagoana Martha Medeiros.

Agora a Bergdorf Goodman (uma das maiores lojas de departamento high end dos EUA) estão vendendo seus vestidos maravilhosos.  Em fevereiro teve até direito a desfile na própria loja.  A estilista diz que esse é apenas seu primeiro passo para expansão da marca internacionalmente.

SO finally Brazilian designers are getting the credit and “fame” they deserve, Brazilian designs are so cool, fresh and modern, like nothing you have ever seen (trust me).  So now our wonderful designer Martha Medeiros from Alagoas is getting her dresses sold  at Bergdorf (she even got to do a fashion show at the store last February).  The designer says this is the start of the international expansion.

Um dos meus sonhos de consumo é esse novo Resort Ayada nas Maldivas, teoricamente é cinco estrelas, serviço impecável, comida ótima (tem cinco restaurantes) e vistas que nem se fala, é tudo maravilhoso!! QUERO QUERO!

This new Resort, Ayada in the Maldives is going on to my travelling wish list for sure.  It’s brand new (I think it just opened uo last year) it’s suppose to be a 5 star hotel with impeccable service, food  (there are five different restaurants)and views.

I want it and I want it now!
